The sale of Country Club Homes has been postponed...it may close as early as a month from now, as late as the end of September, or not at all. All of this up and down is really wearing me out. For the last month I have concentrated all of my energy into looking and applying for jobs, lining up interviews, and worrying (unneccessarily). As stressful as trying to orchestrate a career transition at this point in my life is, I was feeling really good about moving on from property management into something I really could take pride in. To be quite honest, I was looking forward to pocketing my severance, collecting unemployment, and taking some time off.
Not that this may not still happen eventually...it's really just a situation where we won't know what's going to happen until the buyer closes or walks away. For the time being, I've stopped applying for random jobs that will pay the bills. I am not going to stop looking, however. There have been a few jobs out there that I'm really interested in, and wouldn't turn down if the sale fell through. I'll keep my eyes peeled for those for now, and just settle back into my slow days behind the desk.
