1. The Edmonton Oilers' in-house announcer moonlights as the lead singer/drummer for the (terribly irritating) band Cowboy Mouth.
2. The NBC announcers have been obviously biased toward Edmonton. It seems that these hockey "insiders" believe that a.) the Canadian teams are the only "real" hockey teams and b.) the newer franchises - especially the SOUTHERN ones - are undeserving of any accolades, respect, or least of all, Stanley.
Now, my retort to this disprespect is this: no matter where any team plays their home games, the team itself is comprised of men from all over Europe, the USA, and Canada. The Carolina Hurricanes are not a team full of Broughton High and UNC Southern Gentlemen. They are a team full of pro hockey players hailing from the world over who came to play for the franchise who would have them.
