"Beep Beep" - more like "Bleat Bleat"

My ears have been bleeding since March madness...thanks to that Ford commercial (only seen by us lucky Southeasterners...who the heck did we piss off?) featuring a Jem and the Holograms inspired band just rocking the lyrics "Beep Beep."

It really sounds more like sheep-shearing season down on the farm.

The image of the drummer making his Intense, Serious Drummer face while singing "beep beep" is quite comical, and made me wonder if anyone would really do that.

Turns out, this is an actual band from Atlanta called 13 Stories (E called the ATL connection based on the fishnets & jewelry). Check out their website or their myspace, if you're into that sort of thing.

Now, this brings up an interesting point. For all of the criticism of this commercial/song - including my own, I can't stand it - I do have a little soft spot for them now, knowing they are a "real" band, doing their thing. They'll actually be here in Raleigh on June 24th, at Raleigh Downtown Live...just in case there's anyone left who actually would choose to hear that awful song.
