Raleigh Downtown Disappointment

This year’s summer concert series is a huge disappointment, and the season hasn’t even begun. Raleigh’s Alive After 5 has been cancelled due to all of the construction downtown – a lame excuse. Capitol Broadcasting claims that they plan to do “one or two free shows on Fayetteville Street” this summer. We’ll just have to wait and see, I guess.

The Raleigh Downtown Live schedule has just been posted – and it SUCKS. Last year wasn’t the best, but at least there was Butch Walker to look forward to. There is absolutely NOT ONE headlining band that I’m interested in seeing.

And what’s up with Weekend Excursion, a band that doesn’t even exist anymore, headlining after Runaway Cab, a band that just this week received yet another primetime national television placement? Not to mention that WE’s lead singer is opening up at the very next show – looks like Deep South really had to scrape the bottom of the barrel this year.
